Set tempo

Hey,
I'm trying to set a tempo for a player playing any audio without affecting the pitch.
I tried AENewTimePitchFilter for setting rate, the tempo of the track seems fine but the audio doesn't sound right, it seems like the pitch is not affected but the audio seems to lose some of its frequencies.
for example I used a simple kick sample and when I increased the rate to say 1.5 it removed attack sound from the kick sample.
Im new to using the TAAE, so I'm a little lost.
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your help in advance.

Time stretching is notoriously hard, and Apple's audio unit (which TAAE simply uses) does not do a particularly good job. You'll need to find a compatibly-licensed library, and you'll need to evaluate it to see if it suits your needs.

Personally speaking, I'm planning on using Rubber Band which appears to have passable results and is reasonably priced at £420 for commercial use. There are many others, of varying quality and performance, and you can pretty much pay anywhere from zero (but with some truly scary licensing demands), up to a possibility of tens of thousands per year. It's a jungle out there.

Here're some options, in no particular order:

    • Rubber Band
    • Zplane élastique
    • SampleSumo
    • ZTX (was Dirac)
    • SuperPowered
    • SoundTouch
    • BASS FX
  • Thank you,
I will definitely have look at the ones you have suggested.
I am currently using SuperPowered but ran into some inconsistency with it.
